Miriam Kibakaya (b.97) is a vocalist, composer and songwriter from Trondheim, Norway. She finished her bachelor degree at the conservatory for jazz at NTNU – Trondheim in June 2022 and is now working as a freelance musician/composer based in Trondheim. Miriam has received talent prices from (Sparebank 1 SMN and Trøndelag Fylkeskommune), and is playing and has played with her own and colaborative bands at Trondheim Calling, Vill Vill Vest, By:larm and Jazz:intro. The last three years she has been touring in Scandinavia and Germany with different projects at venues such as Molde Jazzfestival, Nonagon Festival (SE), Copenhagen Jazzfestival (DE), and Loch (DE).

In 2023 she did a collaboration with director Frøydis Fossli Moe, creating an artistic visual journey to accompany her composition “Roots” elaborating on the theme “belonging”. This work was nominated by Grimstad filmfestival of 2024, in the category “Music video”.
